Autopsies have now been completed on two Prince Edward Islanders found in a burning Jeep in St. Felix early Friday morning.

The incident is considered suspicious, and is under investigation by the RCMP's major crime unit, the provincial fire marshal's office and the provincial coroner's office.

RCMP said the focus now is on trying to retrace the pair’s last hours between Thursday around supper time and Friday at 1 a.m.

Investigators are still waiting for toxicology and lab results to come back. Police are also asking any witnesses to come forward.

Police are looking into whether the victims owned the vehicle. RCMP Sgt. Andrew Blackadar said police suspect one of the victims owns the Jeep.

The vehicle was from P.E.I., but the registered owner is not from the western part of the Island. RCMP believe they know who was in the vehicle, but are not releasing that information until it can be absolutely confirmed. Police say they have informed those believed to be the immediate family.
