Alcohol and speed were factors in a single vehicle crash on Afton Road on Monday afternoon, say police.

Three people escaped the 1999 Chevy pickup truck and a fourth had to be removed following the crash which happened before 3 p.m. north of Glenroy, P.E.I.

All four were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP said the truck left the road, went into the ditch and then hit a stand of trees.

Charges against the driver are pending.
