Adult sentence sought for girl charged with murder
The Crown is seeking an adult sentence in the case of a 17-year-old Charlottetown girl charged with murder.
The teenager, who can't be named because of her age, is accused of stabbing 45-year-old Kent Gallant to death in July.
The girl has not entered a plea yet, but the Crown is required to notify provincial court of its intention to seek an adult sentence, before a plea is entered.
The case has been adjourned until Sept. 11.
Hearings for the case have twice been delayed, as lawyers for the Crown and defence are waiting for transcriptions of video statements taken by police.
