Summerside police are asking for the P.E.I. public's help in determining what happened in an accident Saturday morning that left an elderly man in serious condition.

The 86-year-old man is at Prince County Hospital in serious condition, after being hit by a 76-year-old driver.

Police say the pedestrian was at the intersection of MacEwan Road and Carol Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. They have not released much more information, just that there should be witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call Summerside Police.

Man charged in hit and run

A 28-year-old Kensington man was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning in Summerside.

He is charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop at an accident scene.

Police say his vehicle was involved in a collision on Pope Road just prior to his arrest.
