P.E.I. environmental health officials found health violations at six eating establishments in the province during routine inspections in January.

The violations ranged from improper dish washing to failure to provide evidence of safe drinking water. Four restaurants were cited for not providing proof of water tests.

"Mickey's Place [at UPEI] received a warning letter for issues around dishwashing," said senior environmental health officer Ryan Neale.

"We also had Richmond Bakin Express who was also issued a warning letter. It was in regard to not having thermometers in each of their refrigeration units."

Neale said those establishments have now met the environmental health rules.
