Charlottetown police arrested and charged two men with criminal assault after a brawl broke out at a downtown bar Saturday night.
Officers were called to Dooley's on Kent Street shortly after 10 p.m. after a fight between some of the customers.
Police say staff members were assaulted when they tried to break up the fight.
"There were three staff members and several bar patrons that were involved. I believe it started over some kind of dispute between two bar patrons inside the club and then when Dooley's staff went to intervene, things escalated from there," said deputy police chief Gary McGuigan.
"There were no life-threatening injuries. There were some people that had some cuts and scrapes on them, but nothing that would be permanent."
A Stratford man and a York-area man, both 21, will appear in court at a later date.
McGuigan said the investigation is ongoing and further charges could be laid.
