Two Islanders are facing impaired driving charges after police pulled over one speeding vehicle then another driving erratically early Sunday morning.

Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, Charlottetown police stopped a speeding vehicle on the Arterial Highway.

The driver, a 39-year-old man from Malpeque, was arrested and taken to jail.

About an hour later, Charlottetown police arrested a 19-year-old woman from Morell after they spotted the vehicle she was driving weave its way down North River Road.

She was also arrested and taken to jail.

Both drivers will appear in provincial court at a later date.
