2 flu-related deaths confirmed on Prince Edward Island
Dozens hospitalized because of the illness
Health officials on P.E.I. confirm there have now been two flu-related deaths on the Island.
In both cases the patients were over the age of 60 and had multiple medical issues.
Health officials said there are typically one to four deaths per year on Prince Edward Island related to influenza.
The number of people on the Island hospitalized with the flu has risen to 51.
The Department of Health and Wellness expects the number of cases will fall over the next week or two, given the patterns of influenza in other years and in other provinces.
