RCMP in central P.E.I. are trying to figure out who made off with more than 100 square bales of hay taken out of a barn in Emyvale Friday.

Police say the hay was taken during daylight hours. They are wondering if it was a misunderstanding.

The farmer had left the barn door open, and some neighbours believe they may have seen vehicles or possibly a trailer in the area which might have been involved.

The officer on the case told CBC News he's never heard of a case like this before.
