Culture Minister James Moore: Fighting for Ultimate Fighting in Vancouver

(Adrian Wyld/Canadian Press)
Republican Senator John McCain once called the sport of Ultimate Fighting "human cockfighting."
But Canada's Heritage Minister, James Moore, is a fan.
Quite apart from his private and personal pursuits, Canada's culture minister now says he's investing some time and effort into bringing the Ultimate Fighting Championship to his hometown of Vancouver for an event.
Check out this Twitter message from earlier today. If the Conservatives were looking for an event that would be the very opposite of artists at "a rich gala all subsidized by taxpayers," most certainly UFC would be it.
mpjamesmoore Had excellent mtg w/executives from Ultimate Fighting Championship. I want a Vancouver event next year. Working on it
