Trudeau's fringe appeal

It is a given that you see some pretty interesting things here on Parliament Hill. But here's one I had not seen before.

Last night various Liberal MPs were making their way to the 20th anniversary party for the Hill Times.

But one in particular caught my eye: Justin Trudeau. Not for the reasons you may suspect - but rather for the footwear he was sporting.

Sadly, I did not have a camera, so bear with my description.

Trudeau had his jeans tucked tightly into mid-calf-high beige moccasins. They looked fully authentic and, if I'm not mistaken, also had a bit of fringe along the side.

Now, normally I wouldn't even mention such a thing but Trudeau's father, Pierre, also had a penchant for fringe. Who can forget the fringed buckskin jacket that the former prime minister wore while paddling his canoe? Why it's almost iconic.

Perhaps the Trudeaus just have a thing for fringe, but they definitely know how to make a fashion statement.
