The big vote
Paul Martin cast his vote this morning, for the new leader of the Liberal party, an exercise is futility, though important for Liberals, to show how many of the 2,500 registered at the convention actually bothered to vote for its new leader.
Martin entered the cavernous, basement voting station smiling, but the lack of any drama was obvious.
"Not quite like Montreal is it?" I asked.
"This is a magnificent convention centre, isn't it?" he answered.
The ballot is small red slip with three words and one name on it : Liberal, Vancouver '09, Leader and Michael Ignatieff.
