I like your book better
Ah political conventions. Where friends and foes cross paths.
Former prime minister Jean Chrétien had an interesting exchange with the current prime minister's press secretary, Dimitri Soudas. The two men ran into each other outside a hotel, and were introduced to one another by Senator Jim Munson, who used to do communications for Chrétien.
Chrétien told Soudas, who is at the convention as an observer, to "listen to my speech. It will be very good." (Read: There will likely be some references to Soudas's boss)
Soudas politely told the former prime minister he always listens to his speeches. He then went on to tell him he liked his (Chrétien's) book better than the latest book by Ignatieff.
