Ready for his close-up
Prime minister Stephen Harper is travelling to the United States this weekend.
Susan Lunn
Not for a formal visit with the U.S. President, other world leaders or a business group. Instead the prime minister is doing a series of media interviews, with Fox News in Washington and CNN in New York, to talk about next week's G20 meeting on the economy.
Harper was in New York just last month, for a meeting with the secretary of the United Nations.
He stopped by the CNN studios that time as well.
This time, the Canadian media are advised by the prime minister's office not to bother tagging along.
The prime minister will not be offering any photo opportunities or interviews to Canadian media while he's in the United States.
