Speaker in training
Andrew Scheer ran for the Speaker's position last week.

There were five ballots, he made it to the final one.
Though Peter Milliken won, many MPs said they were impressed by Scheer's speech. They noted his enthusiasm and ability to speak French.
Working against him was likely his youth. Scheer is 29.
Undeterred, Scheer still wants another crack at the job down the road.
He is continuing to perfect his French and studying procedure. "I go to the workshops on the constitution at conventions," he says.
Today Scheer was on the Hill with a book on procedure tucked under his arm.
"I read it every chance I get," he says.
For now he will have to be content with his current post of deputy Speaker, and dream of the day he gets to rule on questions of privilege.
