Three's company
Liberal leader Stéphane Dion highlighted a humorous distinction of the roster of Liberal candidates.
Susan Bonner
Liberals have three former premiers running for them.
There is Bob Rae, the former premier of Ontario.
And Ujjal Dosanjh, former premier of British Columbia.
And today at a rally in the Prince Edward Island riding of Egmont, Dion introduced the third former premier running as a Liberal candidate.
He is Keith Milligan who won the proivincial Liberal leadership when the party was in power in 1996. He held the job for almost two years but never won victory as premier in a general election. He resigned for health reasons in 1998.
As he introduced the popular Milligan to the crowd, Dion quipped, "We have three former premiers running for us —and one of them was a Liberal premier!!"
Rae and Dosanjh, of course, were NDP premiers.
