Yes, the war in Afghanistan has been intensifying lately and, arguably, who knows what that could mean over here?

And, yes, historically Conservatives have probably been targeted by overzealous protesters more often than other parties.
But ask anyone who's covered more than an election or two in this country and you'll likely find they've never seen such a massive volume of security around a campaigning prime minister.
On Friday there were half a dozen armed police quite visibly on the rooftops of buildings including and near where Stephen Harper had staged a rally — in friendly, lovely and remote Edmundston, New Brunswick.
Leaving one uncertain whether to feel secure, or oddly nervous.
