Sunny and warm doesn't equal happy
Yesterday was stunning in Churchill, Man., — sunny and 14 C. But despite kids building sandcastles on the beach of Hudson Bay, town resident Michel Petit was perturbed.

"Today's a very nice day. But too warm and sunny for October. We're seeing more extreme weather. It's warmer in the summer and colder in the winter," he said.
The director of social services, who describes himself as "middle of the road" when it comes to politics, came out to hear Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion speak.
Petit says the carbon tax element of Dion's Green Shift plan isn't much of an issue in Churchill because no one really understands it.
That said, Petit says everyone realizes the environment is a very important issue.
"We see polar bears every day. They look skinnier and they're coming into town earlier. We know we all have to make some changes. It's just how it gets done…"
