Debate tailgate party
The first of two leaders' debates — tonight's being in French — is still hours away, but party workers aren't waiting before setting the stage outside the National Arts Centre in Ottawa for the political equivalent of a tailgate party.

Two young men in green caps and t-shirts (in homage to the Liberal Party's Green Shift) are ahead of everyone, with signs for several local candidates already lining the sidewalk, and hanging over the entrance of the NAC.
One, who was thoughtfully considering where to place his last red and white sign, was instructed by another, "Don't worry, there are more on the way!"
