Yes, it was $30,000
Former Conservative Senator Michael Fortier seems to have trouble remembering all the spending announcements he and fellow Conservatives made in the weeks leading up to the election call.
Wednesday morning the Conservative candidate was asked about the Festival Orgues et Couleurs, an annual music festival in Montreal.
"Why is that important?" Fortier asked.
The reporter told Fortier he had announced a $30,000 government contribution to the festival just last week.
"I did that?" Fortier responded.
After the press release was read to him, Fortier simply said the festival applied for funding and had been awarded some.
Today the Canadian Taxpayers Federation tallied up all of the pre-election spending by the government, putting the total amount at $19.1 billion.
