It puts the Tories at 34 per cent support among decided voters. The Bloc is next at 32 per cent and the Liberals at 20 per cent. The NDP is pegged at nine per cent with the Green Party trailing the pack at four per cent. There is still a strong undecided factor at 14 per cent.

There are some other interesting numbers in this poll:

  • 89 per cent of Quebecers surveyed don't believe election promises.
  • 70 per cent don't understand Dion's Green Shift plan.
  • 16 per cent don't know who leads the Liberal party.
  • 18 per cent can't name the leader of the Bloc!

The numbers are not strong for Jack Layton but he does have the highest polling numbers for the sexiest leader at 15 per cent. Stephen Harper is next at 10 per cent, while Gilles Duceppe is third at five per cent, Elizabeth May is next at three per cent and Stéphane Dion comes in last at two per cent. Almost two-thirds of those surveyed picked "none of the above."

The poll was taken between Sept 12th and 16th. Léger polled 1,001 Quebecers. The margin of error is listed at plus or minus 3.4 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
