Supporters swoon for Harper
For the second time in two days, a Conservative supporter who'd volunteered to be part of the human backdrop for Stephen Harper's morning policy announcements has fainted in the line of duty.
Paul Hunter
Harper — in mid-sentence while answering a question from a reporter at the time — didn't realize what was happening behind him and finished his thoughts as the poor fellow lay on the floor. Reporters, and later Harper himself, met with the young man afterward to see if he was okay — and it seems he suffered just one injury: non life-threatening extreme embarrassment.
"I feel horrible," he told Harper's staff. "Not only did I faint in front of the Prime Minister, but I did it on live TV!"
