Plenty of Liberal candidates, but the crowd, well...
Tonight Liberals in Quebec are celebrating.
They have a full roster of candidates to contest the province's 75 seats. The announcement was made in a north end buffet hall in the riding of Saint-Laurent-Cartierville, which happens to be the riding of leader Stéphane Dion. Seventy of the 75 candidates crowded onto a stage with Dion to make the announcement.
Reporters commented on the crush of candidates compared to the crowd of supporters. Crowd size at the first few Liberal rallies of the campaign has been a hot topic.
And the crowd at this major rally, a packed, small room of between 200 and 300, is bound to raise eyebrows. Someone commented if each candidate brought two family members that would account for the audience.
