No Tory opponent for Arthur
The Conservatives have decided not to run a candidate in the riding of Portneuf-Jacques-Cartier.
The riding is currently held by independent MP and former controversial radio host, André Arthur.
The Conservatives were worried that running a candidate there would split the vote and allow the Bloc candidate to win the riding.
Arthur often voted with the Tories in the house of Commons and is liked by Prime Minister Harper.
