Gerard 'comes around a lot'; Nash, not so much

Some people in the Toronto riding of Parkdale-High Park are torn.

They can't decide which candidate to vote for in the upcoming election.

The long-time Liberal riding turned orange in 2006 with the election of New Democrat Peggy Nash. She's very popular.

But so is the Liberal candidate, Gerard Kennedy. He was the area's MPP and a cabinet minister in the Ontario government.

Eilish Reynolds lives in a local independent-living seniors complex and is one of many "undecided" voters in the riding.

After hearing Stéphane Dion speak today, she says she was impressed.

Reynolds says Dion would be very good for the country, but he's not well known.

"That's the problem," she said. "And then he's getting so many knocks, you know? He's a nice man, an honest man."

Reynolds thinks she has the solution to her dilemma over choosing between Kennedy and Nash; "They should join together," she says. "They have the same policies, don't they?"

Turning to her friends for agreement, she says, "See! My friends feel the same."

That said, Reynolds acknowledges she hasn't seen much of Peggy Nash, "So it'd be more Gerard. He comes around a lot."
