So, as an indicator of current voter thinking in Saskatchewan, consider the banner someone had strung up on the facade of Saskatoon's grand old Bessborough Hotel, which this morning welcomed Stephen Harper for a big event.

"Welcome Steve!!"? No.

"Tories Rock Steady!!"? Nope.

Where are the hearts and minds of Saskatchewanians this week? In big green letters, the banner under which Harper walked this morning reads simply:

"Thank You, Ron Lancaster 1938-2008"

In Saskatchewan — it's uncontested. 'Rider Pride trumps silly little elections any day of the week.
