Red, white and blue
It is one of the most highly coveted invites in the Nation's Capital: the US ambassador's 4th of July party.
This year marks David Wilkins' last shindig as ambassador so there is expected to be a big turnout.
The theme of the party is a tribute to the military.
In fact, party-goers were handed a blue bracelet that says "Support Our Troops" as their pass to get into the party.
But it's the menu that really impresses: from lobster rolls, to crab cakes to pulled pork and even boiled peanuts (a favourite of the Ambassadors').
On hand will be plenty of American ex-pats, dignitaries of Ottawa and of course, given the theme, lots of American military members.
