Who is for Elections Canada?
The Bloc Quebecois is trying its best to keep the story about election financing alive, the so-called in-and-out scheme.
Today Parliament will vote on a Bloc motion asking for Parliament to reiterate its confidence in Elections Canada.
The Bloc and the Liberals will vote for the motion and it is likely the NDP will do the same.
The Conservatives, though, well that's a different story.
They will vote against the motion, suggesting they do not have confidence in the arm's length elections watchdog.
In some ways, it's hardly a surprise. For months the Conservatives have been caught up in an ongoing dispute with Elections Canada over advertising in the last election.
The Conservatives insist they have done nothing wrong and have taken Elections Canada to court in a bid to get rebates for some 67 candidates and to make their case.
Elections Canada says the Conservatives used the in-and-out scheme as a way to overspend on their national advertising budget.
Today's motion won't clear up the crux of the debate, but it will be one more sign the Conservatives have no love lost when it comes to Elections Canada.
