Harper responds
The Prime Minister is coming to the National Press Theatre!
Now, this may not sound like a big deal, but to journalists it is. In fact, it's only Stephen Harper's third time there since becoming PM.
The National Press Theatre gives a whole other tone to a press conference and, more importantly, members of the press gallery control the whole event. Deciding who gets questions and who doesn't and whether follow-ups are allowed or not. It cuts out the PM's middle man, if you will.
Harper called this news conference to react in a more detailed way to John Manley's report on Canada's future role in Afghanistan. Up to now Harper has only said that it's "good" and "realistic." One can well imagine he'll have more to say now.
At very least, he'll get questions. Lots of them.
