Early dismissal
After waiting two weeks, the former president of the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission had a chance to tell her side of the story.
But Linda Keen had to keep it a little shorter than planned.
Keen was fired two weeks ago by Natural Resources Minister Gary Lunn because of her role in the medical isotope crisis.
Today it was Health Minister Tony Clement who cut her appearance before the natural resources committee short by ten minutes.
Keen's testimony started late, so Liberal MP Omar Alghabra asked that she be allowed to stay past 1 p.m. so she could have a full hour.
But the Conservative chair of the committee, Leon Benoit, said they couldn't keep the health minister waiting to start his testimony , so Keen was dismissed.
Clement's testimony ended up lasting seven minutes longer than scheduled, but no one complained.
