Voters in parts of the Township of West Carleton will decide on Monday whether they want to be part of the new city of Ottawa.
People living in the Torbolton and Fitzroy areas have a choice between staying with the new city or joining a neighbouring county.
Dwight Eastman is the mayor of West Carleton. He says: "If the city of Ottawa wins, we don't have to do anything. If one of the counties wins, then we need to develop a draft restructuring order. We need to work with the county on that. And we need to have that forwarded to the minister of municipal affairs by March 17th".
Eastman says voters who favour the county system can choose either Lanark or Renfrew county.
