Pankiw will not be silenced
Saskatoon-Humboldt MP Jim Pankiw is denouncing a move by university students who believe he has broken the law. The Reformer recently criticized an aboriginal hiring program at the University of Saskatchewan. He also compared the plan's supporters to the Ku Klux Klan.
Yesterday, some students filed a complaint with the R-C-M-P. They think Pankiw's remarks are a public incitement of hatred.
But the M-P says the students are wrong. "It's a shameful attempt to intimidate and silence anyone who dares speak against the politically correct, academic elite employment equity programs as I have done," Pankiw says.
The RCMP have not yet decided how to respond to the students' complaint.
