Worker seriously hurt after 15-metre tower collapses
Man, 32, suffered broken leg, back and head injuries, paramedics say
A worker dismantling a tower on Leitrim Road this morning was seriously hurt after the tower collapsed underneath him, paramedics say.
It happened in the 3000 block of Leitrim Road, between Albion and Hawthorne roads, just before 9 a.m. Tuesday.
A 32-year-old man was dismantling a 15-metre-high tower when it collapsed underneath him, paramedics said in a media release.
The man suffered a broken leg, as well as head and back injuries.
A section of the tower had fallen on his leg. Coworkers managed to cut the section away from the victim before paramedics arrived.
He was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.
