Woodroffe Avenue has been reopened in both directions ahead of schedule, following the installation of new underground infrastructure.

The $8-million Woodroffe construction project included sanitary sewer and water main upgrades, and was funded through Ottawa on the Move.

Approved in the 2012 budget, the program will see a total of about $340 million spent on capital projects from 2012 to 2014, including funding for cycling infrastructure.

The upgrades are designed to maximize transportation choices ahead of light rail construction and Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.
