A 37-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly setting fire to her apartment unit on Gréber Boulevard in Gatineau on Sunday night.

It happened in a four-storey building on Gréber just before 9 p.m.

About 100 people were forced out of the building while firefighters worked to put out the blaze. They were able to return to their homes two hours later, at about 11 p.m. 

One person suffered minor injuries, Gatineau police said.

Damage to the building and its contents is estimated at about $50,000.

The woman was expected to appear in court on Monday morning. She is facing charges of breaching conditions as well as damage to property.
