Woman dies after fire at Gatineau bungalow

A woman is dead after a fire at a bungalow in Gatineau Saturday morning.

A woman is dead after a fire at a Gatineau home.

The fire broke out just after 9 a.m. Saturday at 18 Monette St. near the intersection of Lorrain Boulevard and Sainte-Rose Street.

Firefighters arrived to find a bungalow with its basement full of flames.

Despite quickly knocking down the fire, crews found a woman’s body in the home.

Gatineau police and fire officials are investigating the fatal blaze.
