Five people taken to hospital after early morning fire in Gatineau
A woman and baby are being treated for burns and smoke inhalation after being rescued from a burning Gatineau home early Saturday morning, according to the Gatineau fire service.
Two adults and a child, who managed to get out of the burning house on their own, were also taken to hospital for treatment.
The second floor of the house on Buckingham Avenue was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived around 3 a.m.
The home's smoke detector was not working, according to the Gatineau fire service.
Damage is estimated at $250,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
