What you need to know about Ottawa's Santa Claus parade

The Help Santa Toy Parade today will cause a few road closures in downtown Ottawa starting at 11 a.m.

The 44th annual Help Santa Toy Parade takes place today from 11 a.m. to about 1:30 p.m.

The parade starts at the National Archives on Wellington Street and run along Bank Street and Laurier Avenue to end at Ottawa City Hall. Roads will be closed to accommodate the parade and re-open as the parade passes. 

Ottawa firefighters will collect new toys and cash donations along the parade route.

Road closures

  • Eastbound lanes on Wellington Street from Old Wellington Street and Bank Street.
  • Bank Street from Wellington Street to Laurier Avenue.
  • Laurier Avenue from Bank Street to City Hall.
