Firefighters responded to the home on Route 148 just before 6 a.m. where they found a house in flames, just across the river from Hawkesbury, Ont.

The home was destroyed and when firefighters were searching inside, they found a badly burned body.

They alerted police who are now investigating.

The identity of the victim has not been released, but a man told CBC News his 69-year-old sister lived alone in the home that burned down.
