CBC News sat down with Ottawa police Chief Charles Bordeleau for a year-end interview, during which he described ongoing efforts to keep guns from crossing the border and entering the nation's capital.
Bordeleau, who became police chief about nine months ago after taking over for Senator Vern White, said his priority continues to be guns and gangs.
He also said he's focusing on violence against women and traffic safety.
Bordeleau, whose force saw a larger number of gang-related shootings this past year, said there is ongoing work to limit the number of guns coming across the border from the US.
