A Stittsville tow truck driver is facing drunk driving charges after showing up to tow a vehicle on Highway 417 over the weekend.

It happened early Saturday morning, Ontario Provincial Police said.

At 8:30 a.m., a 43-year-old tow truck driver showed up to Highway 417 eastbound near Eagleson Road.

He was supposed to tow a vehicle that had been pulled over for stunt driving, but officers at the scene suspected him of drinking.

The man, from Stittsville, was charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle over .08.
