Teen recovering after being struck by OC Transpo bus
A 15-year-old girl is recovering in hospital after suffering a severe head injury when she was struck by an OC Transpo bus in Ottawa's east end.
Paramedics say the girl was struck at about 7:50 a.m. on St. Laurent Boulevard near Meadow Park Place.
She was unconscious when paramedics arrived, they added, and she did not regain consciousness when she arrived at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
Police did confirm the hospital told them the girl's condition is improving. She is a student of the Ottawa-Carleton French-Language School Board CBC has learned.
The bus was the No. 7 heading to the St. Laurent shopping centre. Witnesses told the CBC's Ryan Gibson the girl stepped on to the street before she was struck.
