Environment Canada released a special weather statement for much of eastern Ontario, saying a low pressure system forecast to develop over Oklahoma Saturday is expected to intensify as it moves across southern Ontario Sunday night.
While much of southern Ontario will get snow late Sunday, it is expected to persist into Monday in eastern Ontario.
Many places will see snowfall of 15 to 20 cm.
The snow may change to freezing rain over eastern Ontario early Monday, the weather agency warns.
A freezing rain warning was also issued for Upper Gatineau and the Pontiac late Saturday afternoon.
