An Ottawa woman facing charges after her three children were discovered abandoned in their Vanier home has been released on bail.
The woman, who cannot be identified to protect the identity of the children, was arrested March 7 during an appearance in family court.
She has been charged with three counts of child abandonment, breach of probation and mischief endangering life.
Her lawyer, Jason Gilbert, said she was released to a residential substance abuse treatment centre.
"In my view this is certainly the result that best serves the community interest, my client's interest, and, most importantly, the interests of the children involved," said Gilbert.
She is scheduled to return to court on March 28.
