Northbound traffic along Bronson Avenue will be detoured east on Somerset Street to Kent Street as construction on one of Ottawa's busiest traffic arteries resumes today.

A southbound lane of Bronson Avenue will remain open during the construction, which marks the beginning of the second phase of the two-year, $30 million project to replace water and sewer pipes that are in some cases 130 years old.

Work on Bronson closed a portion of the road in both directrions from May to December last year, providing a major headache for store owners on the street.
