A woman from Ottawa was taken to hospital with two possible broken legs after a hit-and-run incident involving a snowmobile in the Laurentians yesterday.
The incident happened on Sunday around 8:30 p.m. on a lake near the town of Saint-Hippolyte, Que., about 70 kilometres northwest of Montreal.
Provincial police Sgt. Gino Paré said the 29-year-old woman was returning to a chalet with another person after a day of cross-country skiing on Morency Lake.
He said two people riding on a snowmobile approached from behind and hit the woman.
