Young Ottawa man stabbed to death on his mom's birthday
No suspects in custody in Gatineau's first homicide of 2013

An 18-year-old man from Ottawa has died on his mother's birthday from injuries suffered in a stabbing outside Club Addiction in Gatineau's Hull sector.
Police and paramedics responded at about 1 a.m. Saturday where they found the man outside Club Addiction at 117 Promenade du Portage.
Sheldon O'Grady, 18, of Ottawa, seen here wearing his Algonquin Thunder uniform, died Saturday after he was stabbed in Gatineau. (Facebook)The man was taken to hospital in serious condition but he died from multiple stab wounds around 8 a.m. Saturday, police said.
This is Gatineau's first homicide of 2013.
Posts on social media indicated the victim is Sheldon O'Grady, a midfielder for the Thunder soccer team at Algonquin College. O'Grady also graduated from Immaculata High School in Ottawa.
"It was a pleasure playing soccer with you Sheldon S. O'Grady, RIP my friend," one teammate wrote.
Another friend, Brian Ho, wrote on Twitter Saturday: "We were supposed to play footy (soccer) tonight. Instead I wake up to hear this."
Another friend of the victim also told CBC News that Saturday was O'Grady's mother's birthday.
No suspects in custody
Police would not release the victim's name. An autopsy is scheduled for next week in Montreal.
Promenade du Portage remained closed between Laval and Leduc streets as the police investigation continued Saturday.
Police are interviewing witnesses and potential suspects but police spokesman J.P. Lemay said no charges had been laid and nobody was in custody.

"The incident happened down the road, but the police just wanted to question us in case we had seen anything to help solve the crime," the post read.
"It is unfortunate that this kind of incident happened but we will do what we can to help."
The club said it would be open as usual on Saturday night.
