Police have made an arrest in the investigation into the killing of Fouad Nayel, an Ottawa man whose body was found near Calabogie, Ont. last month.
A 29-year-old man from Ottawa was arrested Wednesday and is expected to face a charge of murder in court tomorrow, Ontario Provincial Police confirmed.
The arrest happened in Ottawa's east end after police executed two search warrants, police sources told CBC.
The name of the suspect is being withheld pending his appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa.
Nayel disappeared in June
Nayel, 28, disappeared in June. Ottawa Police later recovered his car in Ottawa.
In November, police discovered his remains in a wooded area near the intersection of Calabogie and Norton roads, about 100 kilometres west of Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police and Ottawa Police had been treating the investigation into his death as a homicide.
The construction worker was last seen June 17 in the Petawawa area. He didn't show up for work back in Ottawa and hadn't contacted his family or friends.
A passerby found the remains on public land near the shore of Calabogie Lake, police said.
