Woman, 78, dead after crash near Carlsbad Springs

A 78-year-old woman is dead after a two-car crash Sunday evening near Carlsbad Springs in Ottawa's south end.
Ottawa Police said the woman was driving just after 5 p.m. yesterday afternoon when her car was involved in a collision with another vehicle near the intersection of Devine Road and Frontier Road.
Police said two passengers in her car suffered minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also sent to hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
Police have not released the identity of anyone involved in the crash.
2nd collision at Tenth Line and St. Joseph
Later Sunday evening there was another collision at the intersection of Tenth Line and St Joseph Boulevard.
Police, paramedics and firefighters responded after four cars collided at about 7:23 p.m.
Firefighters needed to cut open one of the vehicles to get one of the drivers out of her car. The driver, a 29-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with a chest injury.
Two teenage girls in another vehicle were also taken to hospital for minor injuries.
Ottawa police are investigating both collisions.
