Gatineau police say a memorial plaque stolen from an Aylmer cemetery has been returned.
The plaque at the cemetery at 35 Lattion Rd. was reported missing on Sunday, Nov. 18.
Police said a 26-year-old man returned the plaque on Saturday and was remorseful, apologizing for his actions.
The upper left corner of the plaque is slightly damaged, police said.
Police said they expect to charge him with theft.
